Clint King is President and Officer of Associated Pharmacies, Inc. (API). He joined the company in 1996 and initially worked in sales and project management, was promoted to General Manager in 2003, and was named President and Officer in 2009. At API Mr. King has focused on operational transformation including business modernization, technology implementation and financial performance, creating a talented, efficient, and inclusive work environment while strengthening the company’s ethical values, management expertise and core mission to serve independent pharmacies. Through this multifaceted transformation, API became a leading pharmaceutical distribution company in the United States.
Prior to joining API, Mr. King began his career as a Project Manager for a well-known geosynthetics and thermoplastics company. While a successful Project Manager, he recognized independent pharmacies struggled to compete with mail order and large chain pharmacy corporations. His intimate desire to make a positive impact for the good of independent pharmacies led him to deploy his management expertise and intellectual firepower at API – then a small start-up cooperative operating in Alabama. He began making improvements immediately that have, over the last 25 years, positively impacted thousands of independent pharmacies across the country.
Mr. King holds a business degree from the University of Alabama and serves on various boards and committees that support local businesses and independent pharmacies.
