We are a nationwide member-owned cooperative comprised of nearly 2,500 independent pharmacies. AAP began operations on Sept. 1, 2009, when two major pharmacy cooperatives – United Drugs of Phoenix, Arizona, and Associated Pharmacies, Inc. of Scottsboro, Alabama – joined forces to form one of America’s largest and most comprehensive independent pharmacy organizations.
Two Companies, One Family
American Associated Pharmacies (AAP)
AAP oversees cooperative membership and manages major vendor agreements.
Associated Pharmacies, Inc. (API)
API is AAP’s distribution warehouse offering Brand Rx, Generic Rx and OTCs at competitive prices, with rebates that will improve your bottom line.
Our Board of Directors: real people, real owners
AAP is overseen by a Board of Directors elected from our membership – real independent pharmacy owners who face the same industry challenges on a daily basis. Last year alone, AAP and its subsidiaries paid hundreds of millions of dollars in rebates and dividends and saved our pharmacies millions more in operating and acquisition costs. We’re able to achieve this level of return due not only to our size, but through strong market relationships built upon trust.
